Update from the Office of the Registrar

GRADUATION APPLICATIONS FOR TUG STUDENTS ARE DUE FRIDAY, APRIL 21ST:

If you are planning to graduate in December of 2017 or May of 2018 your graduation application is due back at the Registrar’s Office by Friday, April 21st at 4:00 p.m. along with your $130 application fee.  Applications turned in after this Friday will be required to pay a $260 application fee.  If you have not picked up your application, they are available in the Registrar’s Office.

COMMENCEMENT 2017:

Graduates: Commencement will be held on Saturday, May 6th at 2:00 p.m. at the Salem Armory Auditorium.  All graduates who are participating in the ceremony are required to attend a rehearsal which will begin promptly at 12:15 p.m. at the Armory.  Doors will open for your guests at 1:00 p.m.  Please remember that this is a ticketed event and all guest must have a ticket to gain entry.  For more information about commencement visit our website: https://inside.corban.edu/commencement

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR COMMENCEMENT: Saturday, May 6th

Summer Courses Online:

Please stop by the Registrar’s Office to pick up a complete list of summer course offerings.  There will be two session dates: May 7th – June 30th and July 1st – August 26th.  There is no self- registration for summer courses.  Tuition is $420 per credit hour and courses must be pre-paid prior to being registered for the course.  Completed forms w/tuition must be turned in to the Registrar’s office for registration purposes.  This includes students who are also doing independent studies over the summer.

If you are planning on graduating in December of 2017 or May of 2018, stop by the Registrar’s Office to pick up your graduation application.  Completed applications and graduation fee ($130) are due in the Registrar’s Office by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017.

FALL 2017 COURSE REGISTRATION:

Students please contact your advisor to set up your advising appointment prior to the start of fall semester registration.  All students must meet with their advisor to schedule their fall classes and to receive their registration access code.  Please check your account for any holds.  Holds will prevent you from being able to register for classes.

Registration dates are as follows:

  1. Juniors to be seniors & seniors: Monday, April 10, 2017
  2. Sophomores to be juniors: Monday, April 17, 2017
  3. Freshman to be sophomores: Monday, April 24, 2017

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS: Final College Transcripts Due: April 1, 2017

Graduating Seniors, if you have taken classes from another college or university and have not submitted your final transcript, they must be received in the Registrar’s Office by April 1st, 2017.  All Reach requirements must also be completed by April 1st of your graduating year.  If we have not received this information from you, it could prevent you from being able to walk at Commencement.

If you did not apply to graduate last April, it is not too late.  Please come by the Registrar’s Office to pick up a graduation application.  Completed applications must be turned in by December 1, 2016.  Please be aware that a late fee does apply.

Update from the Registrar

SPRING SEMESTER REGISTRATION 2017:  It is time to start scheduling appointments with your academic advisor:

All graduating Seniors should already be registered for classes for spring semester 2017.  Please check SIS to see if you need to make any changes to your spring schedule.  *Please do this before October 31st.

*Students who have holds on their accounts will not be allowed to register.  If you have a hold on your account you were contacted via your Corban e-mail by the Registrar’s Office, Student Life or Financial Services.  Thank you for taking care of these before the start of registration.

UPDATED: Registration Dates:  Registration will open on:

  • Non-graduating Seniors & Juniors: Monday, October 31st
  • Sophomores: Monday, November 7th
  • Freshman: Monday, November 14th:  All freshmen will receive their new advisor assignments in core group next week.  Please wait to schedule an advising appointment until after this time.

*To be considered a:

Senior: you must have completed 93 credits before the start of fall semester.

Junior: 62 credits completed before the start of fall semester

Sophomore: 31 credits completed before the start of fall semester

Freshman: 0 – 30 credits completed before the start of fall semester

Withdrawing from a class?:  The last day to withdraw from a class in Friday, October 28th.

  • If you applied to graduate this school year, you should have received a copy of your degree audit via your Corban e-mail.  Please look over this carefully with your advisor and make sure that you have a plan in place to fulfill all of your requirements.  Please make sure that Karen Goertzen is aware of your degree completion plans.
  • If you did not apply to graduate last April, it is not too late.  Please come by the Registrar’s Office to pick up a graduation application.  Completed applications must be turned in before December 1, 2016.  Please be aware that a late fee does apply.

Adding or Dropping a Class?:

Please check your fall class schedule in SIS to make sure that the classes you are attending are the same ones on your fall schedule.  Friday, September 2nd is the last day that you can add a class to your fall schedule and the last day to drop a class without a fee.  If you need to change your schedule you may drop the class yourself or see your advisor.  After September 2nd you will be allowed to withdraw from a course in the Registrar’s Office, but there will be a $10 drop fee charged.

 

Final High School and College Transcripts Due:
