RESCHEDULING A FINAL: Rescheduling a final is an option only when there is an unavoidable emergency, if you have two exams scheduled at the same time, have more than three exams in one day or a documented disability.  Please stop by the Registrar’s Office if you need to reschedule your exam.

SPRING SEMESTER REGISTRATION: All students should now be registered for spring semester courses.  If you have not registered, please meet with your advisor to get your registration access code.

“It is my pleasure to introduce Leslie Herrmann to the Corban community.  Leslie joins Corban on July 7^th as the Dean of Christian Formation and Engagement, a position that has been created in order to provide leadership and create synergy between three important  Corban programs: Chapel, Reach, and Student Programs.  Leslie will supervise Chapel directly, and will provide supervisory support to Brittany Croft as Reach Coordinator and to Ben Pearson as Director of Student Programs.  Leslie came to know the Lord as a college student through Campus Crusade for Christ and has been dedicated to Christian higher education and discipleship ever since.  Most recently, Leslie has been teaching spiritual formation at William Jessup University as an adjunct; her other professional experiences include a combination of academic and administrative roles at other Christian higher educational institutions, so she brings necessary academic and administrative skills to this new role.  Leslie obtained her undergraduate degree from Cal. State Poly; she also earned a Masters in Theological Studies and a Th.M. from Regent College in Vancouver Canada.  Leslie is a creative thinker, a collaborative leader, and is someone I am very excited for you to get to know! – Brenda Roth, Vice President for Student Life

SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS

During the month of June, we’ve had some young future Warriors on campus! Warrior Summer Sports Camps taught young athletes about teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun while they built foundational skills in their sport. Camps were held for baseball and girls’ basketball. Corban also hosted a Timbers Youth Soccer Camp, with professional soccer players sharing their skills with kids from ages 5-13 at Warrior Field.

1. Congrats to Kade Crossland on being named the CCC Men’s Golfer of the Year! Warriors men took second overall as a team, while the Corban women finished in fourth place at the CCC Championships.
2. BSB hosts Simpson University this weekend in its final home series of the year! Senior Day on Saturday is set for an 11am start.
3. Track & Field Athletes compete at the CCC Multi-Event Championships on Thursday and Friday, while the remainder of the team will compete at the Mt. Hood Invite on Friday!

CORBAN ATHLETICS

Men’s Golf: Kade Crossland captured the individual title for the Warrior men at the NCU Invite, leading the team to a third-place finish.

Women’s Golf: Brooke Spencer won the individual title for the Warrior women at the NCU Invite, leading the team to a third-place finish.

GOLF: The Corban University golf teams travel north to the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course next Monday and Tuesday for the CCC Championships, looking to earn a berth to the NAIA Championships.

Softball: Corban hosts Northwest University on Friday at 2pm and then Concordia University on Saturday at 11 a.m. Saturday is also Senior Day, so be sure to come out to Warrior Field and support the Warriors!

Baseball: The Warriors head north to Canada this weekend to take on the University of British Columbia in a four-game series.

Track and Field: The Corban track and field teams compete at the Oregon Relay Meet on Saturday at Hayward Field as well as at the Lewis & Clark Invite on Saturday.

CATHY DOWNS: CORBAN’S #1 FAN

Many of you know that Cathy will be retiring at the end of April after 12 years of service in Student Life.  Unarguably the friendliest, most engaging and winsome member of the Student Life team, Cathy’s presence will be missed by all.  Please join the Corban community in recognizing Cathy for her service by joining us in the second floor of the student center (coffee shop) on Tuesday, April 14^th, from 2-3pm for remarks (at 2:05) and light refreshments.

Finals week is coming up April 27-30. Students are required to take their finals at the scheduled times. In no case should a student plan to leave campus prior to the end of his/her last examination. Finals may only be rescheduled for the following reasons: 1) Two exams are scheduled during same hour, 2) Four or more exams are scheduled on same day, 3) A student has a documented disability, or 4) A student has a documented emergency – student illness, or death in the family.

Any exams that need to be rescheduled for any reason must be approved by the registrar through a rescheduling request form. There is a $25 fee for each rescheduled exam. Certain procedures must be followed in order to re-schedule. Procedures are found inside.corban.edu, on the registrar’s page, under forms-and-policies. Arrangements should be made at least one week prior to finals week to reschedule any finals. The Final Exam Schedule is found online on the Registrar’s page.

GRADUATION REHEARSAL/CEREMONY:

Graduation rehearsal will be Saturday, May 2nd at 12:15 p.m. in the Salem Armory Auditorium. All students who are participating in graduation need to be in their cap and gown and in their assigned seat in the auditorium at that time.

An e-mail will be sent one week prior to the event with your assigned seat/walking order.

Rehearsal will last approximately 1/2 hour.  *Food is not available to purchase onsite, so please plan accordingly.

MASTERS IN COUNSELING PROGRAM NEEDS VOLUNTEER CLIENTS!

If you would be willing to volunteer to come talk about yourself and your life on tape for 45-50 minutes, you can help the counseling students continue to develop their counseling skills. You can come once or schedule several appointments. Talk about anything from indecision about your major, roommate issues, school stress, or anything else you would like to address.
Please remember that these are beginning counseling students. If you think you may have a more serious clinical problem then you should contact the counseling center on campus instead of volunteering with us.
This is a valuable learning experience for the students. We use these taped sessions to give clinical feedback to the counseling students and the tapes are deleted as soon as the student counselor presents the tape in supervision. This process makes them better counselors and prepares them to go out into agencies in the fall.
If you are interested please respond by emailing Mary Aguilera. In your response please give me the times you are available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. (Tues. 9 a.m.-4 p.m.), and if you would prefer to talk to a male or a female student counselor. THE MIRACLE WORKER OPENS!!!

The theater department’s production of The Miracle Worker opened yesterday, March 12th  and continues at 7:00p.m. this evening and the evenings of March 14, 19, 20, and 21. Tickets are $10 for students. (COMMUTERS: the first 50 of you to the Student Life Office get FREE tickets!)
The Miracle Worker tells the story of Helen Keller’s childhood and how she learned to understand the world around her with help from her teacher Annie Sullivan. • GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS: Final College Transcripts Due: Graduating Seniors, if you have taken classes from another college or university, all official transcripts from other institutions must be received in the Registrar’s Office by April 1st.
• GRADUATION APPLICATIONS 2016: If you are planning on graduating in December 2015 or May 2016, stop by the Registrar’s Office any time after Monday, 3/9 to pick up your application. Applications and application fee are due back in the Registrar’s Office by Friday, April 17th.
• REGISTRATION DATES FALL SEMESTER 2015 CLASSES: Please take time to set up an appointment with your advisor prior to the start of registration. All students are to meet with their advisor, go over the courses you are to register for and then receive a registration code.Registration dates are as follows:
   Juniors to be seniors & seniors: Monday, March 30, 2015
   Sophomores to be juniors: Monday, April 6th
   Freshman to be sophomores; Monday, April 13th

*You must have completed the following number of credit hours to be considered a Senior: 93+, Junior 62- 92, Sophomore: 31 – 61, Freshman: 0 – 30.

MIRACLE WORKER opens next week!

Come encourage the arts at Corban! The theater department’s production of The Miracle Worker opens Thursday March 12th at 10:30am, and continues at 7:00 on the evenings of March 13, 14, 19, 20, and 21. Tickets at $10 for students.
The Miracle Worker tells the story of Helen Keller’s childhood and how she learned to understand the world around her with help from her teacher Annie Sullivan. After losing her sight and hearing at only 18 months old, Helen emerges from darkness into all the hope and beauty life has to offer. Come enjoy this award-winning play and support your fellow students onstage and off!

Spring Student Statements were sent to your Corban Email this week. It is your responsibility to make arrangements for the balance to be paid. Please forward your parents this E-statement if they are assisting you to pay.
Early Registration for Fall semester opens March 30th. If you have an unpaid balance and are not on a Payment Plan, a registration HOLD is currently on your account. Take care of your balance, so we can remove that HOLD today!

Payment Options:
1. Pay in Full. If you choose this option visit https://sis.corban.edu to access your Student Tuition Account and make payments electronically.
2. Pay with additional Loans. More information available HERE or contact the Financial Aid Office: (503) 375-7006 or EMAIL.
3. STOP BY and see us if you have questions or concerns. We want to help!
Tuition accounts not on a Payment Plan, covered in loans or paid in full for the semester, incur a monthly late fee of 1.5% of the outstanding balance. This fee will be added on March 16th. Please make payment arrangements to avoid further fees.

Editor and Asst. Editor positions are available for Corban’s print publication “The Hilltop,” online publication “Hilltop News”, the yearbook, and photographer. We also have a new position available this year for a Business Manager. Each position is a year-long commitment and each includes a small scholarship.
You must be enrolled in Journalism Workshop on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:00-4:15 p.m. if you are selected for a position.
