IT’S A GIRL!
Matilda Verlee Pearson made her appearance on July 27, 2015, at 5:42 PM. She weighed 6 lbs. 9 oz. and measured 19.5 inches long. Congratulations to Ben and Nicole on their sweet blessing!

Congrats also to Michele Mosca, winner of the Baby Bookie pool! Michele’s guess was closest to Matilda’s actual birthday and she correctly guessed the gender. She has won a $25 Dutch Bros gift card.

As we prepare for a new school year, we encourage you to begin reflecting on this year’s theme: “Made New.” Our verse for this theme is 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come.”

Together as a community, we will explore the concept of redemption and newness through Christ and what that means in our daily Christian life.

Dr. Matt Lucas explained the theme this way: “We long for redemption; we desire to shed off our burdens and old skin and become new. Our culture’s offer of newness is an ever-receding and fleeting ideal of beauty and youth. Unfortunately, when we come to faith in Christ, we are susceptible to trading one pursuit of newness for another: the siren song of legalism tempts us to be made new by trusting in a list of rules or our own attempts at perfection. But true newness is an act of redeeming creation. God makes us new through his Son as we grow in his likeness.”

You love Corban… and so do the 330 new students who will be joining us on campus this fall! We are excited to be welcoming a record number of both returning and new students to campus. That means more new friends, more adventures, and more happening on campus than ever. Get ready!

WHILE YOU WERE AWAY…

Campus has been full of activity this summer. You might notice some fresh paint and landscaping and new sidewalks when you return.

We’ve also had students of all ages on campus for Worldview Academy, Corban’s annual theater camp, and a variety of sports camps. It’s been fun, but we’re ready to have you back on campus to kick off another great school year. See you soon!
