Many of you know that Cathy will be retiring at the end of April after 12 years of service in Student Life.  Unarguably the friendliest, most engaging and winsome member of the Student Life team, Cathy’s presence will be missed by all.  Please join the Corban community in recognizing Cathy for her service by joining us in the second floor of the student center (coffee shop) on Tuesday, April 14th, from 2-3pm for remarks (at 2:05) and light refreshments.

FINAL EXAM ARRANGEMENTS

Finals week is coming up April 27-30. Students are required to take their finals at the scheduled times. In no case should a student plan to leave campus prior to the end of his/her last examination. Finals may only be rescheduled for the following reasons: 1) Two exams are scheduled during same hour, 2) Four or more exams are scheduled on same day, 3) A student has a documented disability, or 4) A student has a documented emergency – student illness, or death in the family.

Any exams that need to be rescheduled for any reason must be approved by the registrar through a rescheduling request form. There is a $25 fee for each rescheduled exam. Certain procedures must be followed in order to re-schedule. Procedures are found inside.corban.edu, on the registrar’s page, under forms-and-policies. Arrangements should be made at least one week prior to finals week to reschedule any finals. The Final Exam Schedule is found online on the Registrar’s page.

COME DANCE WITH US!!!

We will once again be having a dance on the last day of Ballroom class (Wednesday April 22nd at noon in the gym). THere will be instruction and short lessons in Foxtrot, Waltz, Quickstep and Lindy during this time for anyone who is interested. Everyone is invited students, faculty, staff are all welcome to come have fun and get a good workout in in the process!

THUMBPRINTS: A CORBAN ARTS SHOWCASE

Come and join the celebration of Corban artists, including poets, singers, actors, and writers. Doors open at 6:00. Enjoy refreshments and an art tutorial given by Museum without Walls leadership.

The program starts at 6:45 with presentations from Stinky Bagels poetry, playwriting class, and Hilltop Harmony. We’ll top off the whole evening with a swing dancing lesson!

SUMMER TOWNHOUSE RENTAL

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Salem for the summer, Student Life is now offering a limited number of townhouse rentals. The monthly rent payment covers all utilities and internet usage. Housing will be available from May 4th through the end of July.

The long awaited day is almost here…Dr. Michels (chiropractor) will be on campus next week, Wednesday, April 15th! GRADUATION REHEARSAL/CEREMONY:

Graduation rehearsal will be Saturday, May 2nd at 12:15 p.m. in the Salem Armory Auditorium. All students who are participating in graduation need to be in their cap and gown and in their assigned seat in the auditorium at that time.

An e-mail will be sent one week prior to the event with your assigned seat/walking order.

Rehearsal will last approximately 1/2 hour.  *Food is not available to purchase onsite, so please plan accordingly.

This is a ticketed event and doors will open for guests at 1:00 p.m. and the Graduation ceremony will begin at 2:00.

Corban University celebrates the graduating class of 2015, on Saturday, May 2nd, 2:00 p.m. at the Salem Armory Auditorium.

CAP AND GOWN: If you missed Grad Finale and were unable to pick up your cap and gown, please stop by the Registrar’s Office today.

GRADUATION APPLICATIONS 2016 DUE FRIDAY, APRIL 17th: If you are graduating in December 2015 or May 2016, stop by the Registrar’s Office to pick up your application.

Applications and application fee are due back in the Registrar’s Office by Friday, April 17th.

Tuition must be paid to the Corban University Business Office at the time of registration.

FOR FALL SEMESTER 2015 CLASSES:  Please take time to set up an appointment with your advisor prior to the start of registration.  All students are to meet with their advisor, go over the courses you are to register for and then receive a registration code.

Registration dates are as follows:

  • Juniors to be seniors & seniors: Monday, March 30, 2015   *Graduating seniors are to register for both fall and spring semester classes.
  • Sophomores to be juniors: Monday, April 6th
  • Freshman to be sophomores: Monday, April 13th

*You must have already completed the following number of credit hours to be considered a: Senior: 93+, Junior: 62- 92, Sophomore: 31 – 61, Freshman: 0 – 30.

The concert will also feature guest artist and Corban flute instructor Dr. Emily Stanek, performing Claude Bolling’s “Suite for Jazz Flute.”
