The CGE is offering workshops in Cultural Intelligence for the fifth consecutive year at Corban University.
Cultural Intelligence, or CQ, measures your capability to relate and work effectively in culturally diverse situations. It’s a form of intelligence that has been tested by academic researchers in over 98 countries for nearly two decades.
WHO IS IT FOR?
All students on Corban–sponsored international trips in the 2019-20 academic year will take the CQ workshop.
WHEN IS CQ?
Corban provides two date options for the CQ workshop this year. You may choose either but you don’t have to attend both. Both dates offer a complete workshop.
- Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 9 am to 1 pm EMITTE CENTER
- Saturday, April 4, 2020 from 9 am to 1 pm EMITTE CENTER
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE THE WORKSHOP?
A fee is assessed to cover the cost of access to internationally normed assessment results of the Cultural Intelligence Center and create a personalized feedback report for each student.
Community members, staff, faculty and students who are not in an international trip may register by paying a $43 registration fee here.
If you are participating in BestSemester in Fall 2020 or Spring 2021 or another Corban-sponsored team, pay the $177 Global Trips Fee here: https://store.corban.edu/products/global-trips-fee. This covers the cost of workshop materials and a license fee charged by the Cultural Intelligence Center for each participant. It also includes your international travel insurance, a requirement of Corban’s international study fees.
After paying your registration fee, you will receive an email from cqaccount@culturalq.com with instructions in how to complete a 15-minute self-assessment prior to the workshop. This will generate a personalized feedback report, which the CGE will print give to you at the workshop.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT ON THE DAY OF THE WORKSHOP?
Anticipate lots of interactive activities in a group setting! The workshop is not just listening and writing, but rather explores cultural values and strategies for crossing cultures in an interactive setting.
