Summer of Success<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer of Success was in full swing on the Corban University campus from July 25 to August 14!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the help of a dedicated team of South Korean leaders, Corban staff and faculty, and community members, Corban provided an incredible cross-cultural experience for these students, from eating s’mores around the campfire to tackling a ropes course, visiting the Oregon coast, practicing their English, and diving into God’s Word. God is good!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UPH Graduates Fill Teaching Positions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corban’s partnership with Universitas Pelita Harapan equips graduates of Teachers College (TC) and International Teachers College (ITC) with Bachelor of Education degrees. These Corban University alumni fill teaching positions throughout Christian schools in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Graduation ceremonies this summer brought the total number of Corban University graduates at UPH to over 1900.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Biblical Hebrew Graduates Honored<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corban’s global reach also touches Israel, where the 4.2.20 Foundation and Institute of Biblical Languages and Translation are committed to advancing access and engagement with the whole Word of God for every language, culture and people. On June 29, 2019, twenty-two students completed the 48-credit Corban University Graduation Certificate in Biblical Hebrew Translation. The eight-month graduate certificate equips beginner-level participants with the skills necessary to translate the Old Testament directly into their native language<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

S.O.S. Teams Return from Overseas<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20 Corban University students participated in Summer of Service (SOS) trips organized by the Center for Global Engagement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Peru <\/strong><\/em>– Dr. Annette Harrison and five students immersed in university life in Trujillo, Peru, building relationships and sharing the Gospel with Cru.<\/li>
  • Greece <\/strong><\/em>– 10 students and Sam Pearson, Associate Director of the CGE, served refugees in a Greek refugee camp for one week in May.<\/li>
  • South Korea <\/strong><\/em>– Five students and Dr. Sang-Eun Dyer taught English Bible School camps alongside Awana Korea, a nationally-run ministry in Seoul.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
