{"id":76,"date":"2013-10-10T16:17:07","date_gmt":"2013-10-10T23:17:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/corbanblogs.wpengine.com\/clips\/?p=76"},"modified":"2013-10-10T16:17:07","modified_gmt":"2013-10-10T23:17:07","slug":"announcements-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.corban.edu\/clips\/2013\/10\/10\/announcements-7\/","title":{"rendered":"Announcements"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><b>FROM THE REGISTRAR\u2019S OFFICE:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Freshman:<\/b> Final high school transcripts are needed in the Registrar\u2019s Office.\u00a0 If we have not received your final high school transcript you were notified via e-mail a couple of weeks ago by our office.\u00a0 Final transcripts need to be received prior to the start of spring semester registration.<\/li>\n<li><b>Transcripts:<\/b>\u00a0 Have you taken a course recently at another college or university?\u00a0 Make sure that you request an official transcript be sent to our Registrar\u2019s Office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Dropping a class:<\/b>\u00a0 You may continue to withdraw from classes through Friday, November 8<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Pick up a course change card in the Registrar\u2019s Office and pay the $10 fee to withdraw.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Graduating in 2013-14, but haven\u2019t applied to graduate?:<\/b>\u00a0 You can still pick up a graduation application in the Registrar\u2019s Office.\u00a0 The last day to submit your graduation application is: <b>Monday, <i>December 2, 2013<\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Special Veteran&#8217;s Day Ceremony<\/h3>\n<p>On Monday Nov. 11, Corban University will honor our nation\u2019s veterans during a special Veteran\u2019s Day ceremony. At 8 a.m. a special guest veteran will open the day with remarks to Corban students in front of the clock tower. This will be followed by an all-day reading of the names of U.S. military members killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to sign up in Student Life to read names during 30-minute intervals ending around 5 p.m.<br \/>\nDonations will be accepted for the family of Alex Hussey, cousin of Business Professor Shawn Hussey. Alex is a 21-year-old Army veteran who was on patrol in Afghanistan when he was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED). He lost both legs and a hand as a result. You Are Not Alone<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>Ever feel like you are the only one who is sad in a world of happy people? Everyone experiences stress, sadness and anxiety from time to time \u2013 it&#8217;s part of life. These feelings often happen when you a lose a job, loved ones move away, during divorce, after a death in the family, or during retirement. But when changes in mood and behavior interfere with one\u2019s ability to work, sleep, eat, and enjoy once pleasurable activities, it could be a sign of depression. National Depression Screening gives people the opportunity to take a <strong>free, anonymous questionnaire<\/strong> assessing their risk for mood and anxiety disorders and provides referral information for treatment. If your email has an attachment that means you have\u00a0 a returned paper, not a letter or package. However, if you do have an item to pick up, it will read &#8220;You have an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>ITEM<\/strong><\/span> to be picked up&#8221;.\u00a0 Although I love seeing you all, save yourself the disappointment and read your email first!!!<\/p>\n<h3><b>REGISTER FOR ISRAEL STUDY TOUR<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>In a little over 200 days our group leaves to travel to Tel Aviv, Israel, the first stage of our incredible study tour. This is the capital of the amazing modern nation of Israel. It&#8217;s also\u00a0 next to Jaffa, or Biblical Joppa where Jonah caught a ship for Tarshish and Peter was used by the Lord raise Tabitha (Dorcas) from the dead. Then on to our headquarters at Jerusalem University College, at the southern wall of the Old City just a short stroll from the Temple Mount. That is just the start of our life-changing adventures in the Holy Land. We\u2019d love for you to go with us. We&#8217;ll have missionary guests from many different agencies on campus sharing in classes, Bible Studies, lunch time events and evening events! Dr. George Murray, Chancellor of Columbia International University, will be sharing with us during chapel as well.
